JONESBORO, Ark. – The Belmont women's golf team finished in a tie for second place at the ASU Lady Redwolves Classic held this week at Sage Meadows Country Club in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Belmont carded a final round team score of 312 to finish in a tie for second place at 942. Host Arkansas State won the team title with a mark of 912.
The Bruins had two golfers among the top-10. Freshman Maribeth Peevy posted a two-over par 74 on Tuesday to finish in a tie for fifth place with a three round score of 230. It was her first top-five finish of her career. She finished eight shots behind medalist, Beth Ann Compton of Arkansas State.
Senior Mallory Sullivan finished in eighth place at 234 after shooting a 77 in the final round. It was her third straight top-10 finish of the fall season.
Other Belmont scores from the tournament included: sophomore Carlee Nanney (14th, 240), freshman Ann Catherine Blackburn (17th, 245), junior Emma Kate Liu (T-18, 247).
Senior Maddie Williams competed as an individual and finished 20th at 253.
The women's golf team is back in action on October 30-31 at the TSU/McCabe Invitational at McCabe Golf Course in Nashville.
