NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team is in second place after round one of the TSU Town and Country Invitational held Monday at McCabe Golf Course in Nashville.
Competing in the unique format of all five players on one team playing together, the Bruins posted a team score of 305 on Monday to finish the day in second place. Austin Peay has the team lead at 292, while Lipscomb is one shot back of BU in third place at 306.
Two Belmont golfers are among the top-five after 18 holes. Junior Emma Kate Liu and senior Maddie Williams, competing as an individual, are tied for third place after each shot a one over par 73. They are three shots behind individual leader AnnMichelle Moore of Austin Peay (70).
Senior Mallory Sullivan is three shots back of Liu and Williams and in 11th place at 76.
Freshmen Ann Catherine Blackburn and Maribeth Peevy are tied for 13th place after each carded a 78, while sophomore Carlee Nanney is tied for 22nd place at 79.
The second and final round begins Tuesday morning at 10:00am. The Bruins will tee off at 11:50am on the first hole of the middle course at McCabe.
