NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team wrapped up its fall season with a second place finish at the TSU Town and Country Invitational held this week at Nashville's McCabe Golf Course. In addition, two BU golfers, Mallory Sullivan and Maddie Williams, earned All-Tournament honors.
In their final round on Tuesday, Belmont posted their lowest team score of the season, a 300, to finish in second place with a 36-hole total of 605. Austin Peay won the team title with a 583, while Cumberland placed third at 612.
Four Bruins finished among the top-10 this week. Senior Mallory Sullivan led the team as she finished fourth. She carded a 73 on Tuesday to finish with a score of 149. She was nine shots behind individual medalist, AnnaMichelle Moore of Austin Peay. It was Sullivan's third top-five finish of the fall season.
Senior Maddie Williams, competing as an individual, finished in a tie for fifth place at 150. She posted a 77 in the final round. It was her best finish as a Bruin. Junior Emma Kate Liu and freshman Maribeth Peevy each finished in a tie for eighth at 151. Liu shot a 78 on the final day, while Peevy carded a 73.
Sophomore Carlee Nanney placed 18th at 155, while freshman Ann Catherine Blackburn tied for 20th place at 157.
This tournament wraps up the fall season for the women's golf team. They return to competition on March 12-13 at the Bradley Spring Invitational in Dallas, Texas.
