Tough Start in Texas

DALLAS, Texas – The Belmont women's golf team stands in 13th place after day one of the Bradley Spring Invitational held Monday at Brookhaven Country Club outside Dallas.

Belmont carded rounds of 317 and 326 to finish the day in 13th place at 643.  Houston Baptist and Cincinnati are tied for the team lead at 611, while Akron is third at 612.

The Bruins were led by freshman Maribeth Peevy.  The freshman from Collierville, Tennessee posted rounds of 79 and 78 to finish the day in a tie for 32nd place at 157.  Junior Emma Kate Liu is tied for 44th at 160 after she shot rounds of 79 and 81.

Other Belmont scores from day one included: sophomore Carlee Nanney (T-53, 162), freshman Ann Catherine Blackburn (T-62, 164), and senior Mallory Sullivan (T-85, 174).

The individual leader is Jacinta Pikunas of Akron, who stands at 147.
