RICHMOND, Ky. — The Belmont women's golf team moved up two spots in Saturday's final round to finish in 10th place at the EKU Colonel Classic held at the University Club at Arlington in Richmond, Kentucky.
The Bruins posted a team score of 303 on Saturday to finish in 10th place at 623. Host Eastern Kentucky and Xavier tied for the team title.
Belmont was led by freshman Maribeth Peevy. The Collierville, Tennessee native carded a two over 74 to finish the tournament in a tie for 20th place at 152. It was her fourth top-20 finish of the season.
Junior Emma Kate Liu tied for 30th place at 154. She shot a four over 76 in the final round.
Other Belmont scores included: senior Mallory Sullivan (T-48, 157), sophomore Carlee Nanney (T-53, 158), and freshman Ann Catherine Blackburn (T-84, 169).
Competing as individuals, sophomore Julia Nittoli finished in a tie for 59th at 160, while senior Maddie Williams placed 87th at 177.
The women's golf team is back in action this Friday and Saturday at the Weaver Invitational in Murray, Kentucky.
