Back to the Bluegrass State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's golf team is back in action this weekend at the Jan Weaver Invitational hosted by Murray State at Miller Memorial Golf Course in Murray, Kentucky.

The Bruins coming into this week's event after a 10th place showing at the Colonel Classic in Richmond, Kentucky.  Freshman Maribeth Peevy was the low finisher for the team as she tied for 20th place at 152.

Senior Mallory Sullivan leads the team with a 77.7 scoring average and five top-10 finishes.   Peevy ranks second on the team in scoring at 78.5 and has two top-20 finishes this spring. 

The Jan Weaver Invitational is a two-day, 54-hole event, with 36 holes on Friday and 18 holes on Saturday.  The event will be held at Miller Memorial Golf Course, which will play to a par 72 and length of 6,017 yards.  The field features 14 teams, including six from the OVC: host Murray State, Austin Peay, Belmont, Jacksonville State, Tennessee Tech, and Tennessee State.

Day one play begins Friday morning with an 8:30am shotgun start.
