MURRAY, Ky. -- Snow and cold weather has cancelled the final round of the Jan Weaver Invitational held this weekend in Murray, Kentucky.
Belmont finished in eighth place with a 36-hole score of 609. Central Arkansas won the team title with a mark of 584, with host Murray State in second at 597.
Two Bruins finished in the top-20. Junior Emma Kate Liu tied for 13th place at 149. She finished six shots behind individual champion, Emma Svensson of Central Arkansas. It was her fifth top-20 finish of the season. Freshman Maribeth Peevy finished tied for 16th place at 150. It was the fifth top-20 finish she has posted during her freshman campaign.
Other Belmont scores included: senior Mallory Sullivan (T-40, 155), freshman Ann Catherine Blackburn (T-46, 156), and sophomore Carlee Nanney (T-51, 151).
Two Bruins competed as individuals. Sophomore Julia Nittoli tied for 66th place at 163, while senior Maddie Williams placed 73rd at 166.
This tournament ends the regular season for the women's golf team. They will be back in action April 16-18 at the OVC Championship in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
