Box Score CONWAY, Ark. – The Bruins battled in their first game at the Adam Brown Memorial Shamrock Classic against Central Arkansas, 5-2.
The Bruins struggled to get the bats going in the first and second inning of the matchup. Central Arkansas went up early in the first scoring four runs against the Bruins, 4-0.
The Bruins played a stellar inning of defense in the bottom of the second holding the Bears to the 4-0 score.
Ellison Ollinger walked in the top of the third. Cheyenne Cavanaugh came into the box hitting a bomb to left field moving Ollinger to third. The Bruins did not stop there, Baie Ensio laced a hit up the middle to give herself two RBI. Ensio was then caught in a rundown and was called out, 4-2.
The Bruins were unable to break the deficit and the Bears went up another run finishing the game at 5-2.
