NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University men's soccer team took on the University of Alabama at Birmingham Wednesday evening at E.S. Rose Park for its second dress rehearsal of the preseason. Continuing to work on their craft leading up to Belmont's season opener with Southern Indiana on Aug. 25, the Bruins acquired 90 more minutes of live match action for their 2022 campaign.
Following regulation time, the two teams partook in a penalty shootout for simulated pressure situations.
The visiting Blazers found the back of the net three times throughout the evening, earning a first-half goal in the 17th minute from Teodor Thorvaldsen and getting two second-half scores from Owen Barber (59') and Nathaniel St. Louis (65').

The Bruins wrap up exhibition play this weekend when they host local NCAA Division II member Trevecca Nazarene. Kickoff from Rose Park is set for 6 p.m. Belmont will also host its first two opponents of the regular season, welcoming Southern Indiana next Thursday and Purdue Fort Wayne next Sunday (Aug. 28) to the Music City.
