Women's Basketball Takes Part in Annual Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge

Every Free Throw the Bruins Make in the Month of February Benefits the Kay Yow Cancer Fund

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University women's basketball program will once again participate in the annual Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge throughout the month of February. Beginning with the Bruins' Missouri Valley Conference home matchup versus Murray State on Thursday, Feb. 2, every free throw Belmont makes during the month benefits the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

The Kay Yow Cancer Fund's mission is to raise money for scientific research for development of life-enhancing drugs and clinical studies, serve the underserved, and unify people for a common cause – the fight against all cancers that affect women. To learn more about Play4Kay and the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, visit KayYow.com.

Fans and supporters can make a pledge on the Bruins' February free throws by visiting Belmont's Play4Kay page. One-time donations are also being accepted. All proceeds benefit the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.

Last February, the Bruins raised $1,301 for the Kay Yow Cancer Fund. Belmont made 97 free throws throughout the month and finished sixth among NCAA Division I women's basketball teams in the 2022 Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge in terms of funds raised.
