Belmont is coming off a two-draw week against Illinois State and Evansville. The Bruins currently sit tied for seventh in the MVC with four points. Southern Illinois ended their match Thursday night against Evansville in a 1-1 draw, but dropped their Sunday contest against Illinois State, 1-0. The Salukis rank ninth in the league standings with one point.
What's Bruin?
- Maci Pekmezian earned MVC Player of the Week after scoring both goals for the Bruins this past week. It's the first MVC weekly honor for a Bruin this season. The Senior leads the team in goals (4), points (9), and shots (11).
- Sarah Doyle remains atop the MVC goalkeeper leaderboard in saves (80) and saves per game (6.15). She's totaled 26 saves in four conference matches.
- Belmont's 10 shots against Evansville was the second-highest team total of the season, and the most since Aug. 24 vs. Eastern Kentucky.
- Sunday's match vs. Evansville was the first time Belmont has landed all of their shots (5) on goal.
- Three of Belmont's final five matches will be road contests.
