Men's Basketball Hosts Berry Tuesday

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball hosts Berry Tuesday at the Curb Event Center.
 
Ja'Kobi Gillespie scored a team-high 21 points at Furman Nov. 10. Gillespie ranked among Missouri Valley Conference leaders in steals and assists last season.
 
Kyler Vanderjagt scored a career-high 12 points, while Jayce Willingham added 11 points, four rebounds and two blocked shots.

Senior Keishawn Davidson ranks ninth in career assists (505) among active players NCAA Division I players.

Belmont turns the page after graduating program standout and Indiana Pacers guard Ben Sheppard and sharpshooting forward Drew Friberg, among others. Sheppard and Friberg combined to make 177 3-point field goals last season, ranking among national leaders.

  • Belmont has received national poll votes in 11 of the last 13 seasons.
  • Belmont will play up 13 games vs. teams who were Q1/Q2 in the final 2022-23 NET rankings.
This marks the sixth meeting between Belmont and Berry, the first since 1987.
 
Berry head coach Mick Hedgepeth is a 2012 Belmont graduate, who was part of three conference championship teams and two NCAA Tournament teams. Hedgepeth was the 2011 ASUN Tournament MVP and in September was inducted into the Belmont Athletic Hall of Fame

Former Belmont athletic communications graduate assistant Noah Syverson is a 2021 Berry graduate.
