Destinee Wells (Lakeland, Tenn.) and junior baseball player
Sam Kirkpatrick (Franklin, Tenn.) have been named Trane Student-Athletes of the Month for March.
Wells has been one of the catalysts for the women's basketball team's success in the last month that led to a 16 game win streak, a MVC regular season title, and a WNIT postseason berth. She ranks in the top 10 in the MVC in seven different categories and averaged 32.0 points per game in the MVC Tournament. For her efforts, she was named to the All-MVC First Team and MVC All-Tournament team.
Kirkpatrick has been the baseball team's top offensive player the first month of the season as the Bruins have posted seven wins. He leads the team in batting average (.364), runs scores (12), hits (24), and stolen bases (3). In addition, he has had seven multi-hit games.
