NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University women's cross country team had an impressive showing on Saturday morning at the Paul Short Run in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.Â
In their third meet of the season, the Bruins claimed seventh place overall in a field of 44 teams. Belmont finished ahead of West Virginia, South Carolina, Maryland and Rutgers.
Kaitlyn Vanderkolk led the way for the Bruins, finishing in eighth place with a time of 20:29.2, which is only 12 seconds off the 6K program record set by Hannah Wittman at the 2015 NCAA South Regional.Â
Brooke Garter was the next Bruin to finish, securing a top 50 finish with a personal best time of 21:18.
Grace Litzinger and Brooke Stromsland finished back to back, with Stromsland notching a new personal best at 21:31.6.
Katie Flaherty finished in 21:36.1. Alexa Fortman followed as the next Belmont runner in 22:32.4.
Carson Wasemiller, Maddy Malczewski, and Clara Crain rounded out a successful day for the Bruins out on the course in Pennsylvania.
