Tessa Miller (Crossville, Tenn.) and sophomore men's basketball player
Isaiah Walker (Wyoming, Ohio) have been named Trane Student-Athletes of the Month for January.
Miller has been a key part of the women's basketball team's recent success, where they have won eight of their last nine games. She leads the team in both scoring (13.8) and field goal percentage (.563) and ranks third in rebounding at 5.9 per game. She has scored in double figures in all but two games this season and had a career high 19 points versus Kennesaw State last month. Off the court, she serves as her team's representative to Belmont's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Walker has been an unsung hero during the men's basketball team's 10-5 start to the season. He has started all 15 games this season, leads the team in minutes played, and ranks in the top-five on the team in six statistical categories. He has scored in double figures in three of his last five games and had a career-high 13 points versus Drake last Sunday. Off the court, he serves as his team's representative to Belmont's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
