NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont women's soccer (6-7-1, 3-2 MVC) and Missouri State (6-4-3, 4-0-1 MVC) faced off Sunday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park. The match featured the top two teams in the MVC. The Bears scored early goals in each half and defeated Belmont, 2-0.

Missouri State's Grace O'Keefe scored the eventual game-winning goal in the 8
th minute. Kaeli Benedict scored in the 51
st minute. Julia Kristensen assisted on both goals.
The Bruins had several scoring opportunities at the end of each half. Belmont's aggressive runs resulted in six corner kicks and multiple quality scoring chances in the box.
Kaitlyn Elliott and
Ava Labocki nearly scored in the 25
th minute off a bouncing ball in the box.
Anay Garcia placed a quality shot on goal in the 86
th minute.
