MURRAY, Ky. - - Belmont (15-13, 4-2) and Murray State (18-9, 3-3) wrapped up their three-game series at Johnny Reagan Field Saturday afternoon. Despite an early 4-0 deficit, the Bruins' offense got on a roll and racked up 16 hits, and finished the weekend sweep with a 13-7 win.

Murray State jumped out to an early 4-0 lead. The Racers scored a pair of runs in the second and third innings.
The Bruins got on the board in the fourth inning.
Blake Barton led off with a single to left field.
Landon Godsey doubled down the left-field line.
Michael Lareau hit a ground ball to the right side, which scored Barton.
The Bruins' five-run sixth inning gave them the lead, which they never relinquished.
Brodey Heaton led off the inning with a towering solo home run to left field. A pair of singles from Barton and
Jeff Clarke set the table for Lareau, who hit a three-run bomb to center. It was Lareau's first home run of the season.
Sam Kirkpatrick hit a one-out single to left field and stole second. Slaughter drove Kirkpatrick in on a single up the middle. Belmont finished the inning with six hits and took a 6-4 lead.
Cade Granzow kept the Racers quiet at the plate. The junior tossed four innings after reliving
Joe Ruzicka in the third. He allowed no runs on four hits, and finished with a career-high six strikeouts.
The Bruins kicked the door off the hinges in the seventh.
Mason Landers hit his tenth home run of the season to lead off the season. With runners on second and third and the infield in, Godsey hit a fielder's choice to the shortstop, who tried to get Heaton out at the plate. Heaton was safe and the Bruins made the Racers pay for their mistake. Kirkpatrick drove in a pair of runs on a single to right field. Slaughter followed with another two-RBI single. Landers' second hit of the inning brought home Slaughter. Belmont led 13-4 going into the seventh-inning stretch.
Dan Tauken hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the inning to cut the deficit to 13-6. Dustin Mercer led off the eighth inning with a solo home run.
The Bruins handled business the rest of the way and won the game, 13-7. Belmont swept the Racers and improved to 4-3 in the MVC.
Belmont returns to action Tuesday, April 2, against Lipscomb. First pitch from Ken Dugan Field is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT. Fans can tune into the game on ESPN+, iHeartRadio, or follow along with live stats.
