NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball head coach
Casey Alexander announced Wednesday the signing of Tyler Lundblade to a national letter of intent to play basketball for the Bruins, starting in the fall of 2024.

Lundblade, a 6-7 guard/forward from Dallas, Texas, made 15 game appearances over the last two seasons at TCU.

"Tyler is a Belmont guy through and through," Alexander said. "We are thrilled that everything came together and he is able to join us for the upcoming season. His skill, shooting and pace are seamless fits for how we play. Tyler is yet another Belmont player who has been around winning, high-level competition and great coaching every step of his playing career."

Lundblade began his college career at SMU, where he redshirted in 2021-22.

A decorated prep player, Lundblade was a three-year letterwinner at Grapevine Faith Christian School. He earned Texas TAPPS District 1-5A Most Valuable Player and All-State honors after averaging 28.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game as a junior.

Lundblade played his high school senior season at Greensboro Day School in North Carolina, being named McDonald's All-America nominee and all-conference after averaging 10.6 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game on 45 percent 3-point shooting.

He was ranked as one of the top shooting guard recruits in the state of North Carolina by ESPN and 247sports.com.

Lundblade comes from an athletic family, as his father played basketball at SMU and his brother played center in the National Football League.

"Our team had five great weeks together in June and Tyler's arrival brings even more talent, depth and healthy competition," Alexander added.

Belmont University men's basketball has been a postseason fixture the last two decades, including nine berths to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have won 20 conference championships since 2006 - third-most nationally over that span (Gonzaga, Kansas). Belmont has won 20 or more games in 14 consecutive seasons (Gonzaga, Kansas, Oregon) and 19 or game games in 19 consecutive seasons (Gonzaga, Kansas, San Diego State). Belmont is among select programs with two or more first-round selections in the NBA Draft over the last five years (
