NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University volleyball team (13-3, 4-1) returned to the Curb Event Center Saturday night and delivered a statement win, sweeping Indiana State 3–0 for their 8th home victory of the season. The Bruins showed energy and depth throughout the match, earning a strong rebound performance after Friday's match.
Belmont came out sharp in the opening set, fueled by a quick start from sophomore Mialee Dabbelt and a big solo block from Bella Mathis. Three straight kills from Erin McMullen pushed the Bruins ahead 12–8, forcing an Indiana State timeout. Behind powerful swings from Brooke Gilleland and steady play across the lineup, Belmont controlled the rest of the set to take it 25–19.
The Bruins carried that momentum into the second set, dominating both at the net and on defense. Big plays from McMullen, Gilleland, Dabbelt, and Lilly Lutz helped Belmont build and maintain a commanding lead, taking the frame 25–14.
Belmont's energy continued in the third, led by McMullen's consistent presence and Gilleland's clutch swings. Strong passing from Lutz, assists from both Jordan Czakowski and Alivia Keegan, and timely plays from Dabbelt powered the Bruins through a tight rally late. A huge point behind Lutz and Gilleland sealed the 25–14 set win and the sweep.
