NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University men's basketball will host 10 Missouri Valley Conference games at the Curb Event Center as the league office released its 2025-26 men's basketball conference schedule Thursday.
Â
With 20 conference championships and 361 conference wins – second only to Gonzaga – over the past two decades, Belmont is poised for another unforgettable season.
Â
"Releasing our full schedule is an exciting next step and a great reminder that the season is just around the corner," saidÂ
Casey Alexander, Belmont head coach. "I like being able to play a full round-robin schedule which provides a true conference champion and conference tournament seeding."
Â
Belmont opens conference play Dec. 13 vs. UIC. The Bruins scored 92 points vs. the Flames last season in winning an entertaining, high-scoring game.
Â
Following road games at Evansville and Indiana State, Belmont rings in 2026 with a New Year's Day home game vs. Bradley. The series has been marked by tremendous competition and memorable finishes. Belmont won, 80-77, last season in Peoria on
Jonathan Pierre's game-winning 3-point play.
Â
Belmont hosts defending conference champion Drake Feb. 3. The Bruins defeated Drake, 87-65, in its last visit to the Curb Event Center.
Â
Regular season play concludes March 1 at Illinois State. The Redbirds were selected as MVC preseason favorite by the league office and Blue Ribbon College Basketball Yearbook.
Â
Other schedule highlights include:
- Belmont has weekend home dates against area rivals Murray State (Jan. 31) and Southern Illinois (Jan. 4).
- Belmont has four February home dates, including Drake, Northern Iowa, Indiana State, and Evansville.
- Interestingly, the Bruins will have two stretches of four games in nine days and two weeks (Jan. 19 and Feb. 16) with no midweek game.
Â
In all, Belmont will have the chance to play up to 14 games against Q1/Q2 opposition based on the 2024-25 official NET rankings.
Â
Belmont's 40 conference wins over the last three seasons rank third in the MVC.
Â
The Belmont roster features 11 returning players – including three redshirt freshmen – and four newcomers.
Â
"We're excited about the potential of this team and look forward to proving ourselves on the floor," Alexander said.
Â
The 2026 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Tournament will take place March 5-8 in St. Louis, Missouri.
