NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University volleyball (10-3, 1-1 MVC) continues Missouri Valley Conference action on the road Friday, Oct. 3, taking on Evansville at 6 p.m. CT inside Meeks Family Fieldhouse in Evansville, Indiana.
The Bruins then return to the Curb Event Center on Saturday, Oct. 4, to host Southern Illinois at 5 p.m. CT.
Both matches will stream live on ESPN+.
What's Bruin
- Belmont kicked off Missouri Valley Conference Play with a win over Murray State. Lilly Lutz hit 1000 career digs and Brooke Gilleland reached 1000 career kills.
- The team opened the 2025 season with a 1-3 loss at Vanderbilt, then bounced back with back-to-back home wins over Seton Hall and UT Martin.
- At the Belmont Invitational, the Bruins went 3-0 with sweeps of Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Nicholls State, and Tennessee State, recording the program's first 15-0 consecutive-set streak since 2015.
- Brooke Gilleland was named Invitational MVP, while Lilly Lutz and Emily Warmenhoven also earned All-Tournament Team honors.
- Belmont stayed hot at the Clocktower Tournament, going 3-0 with five-set wins over Siena and Columbia and a sweep of Stonehill.
- Brenna Kauffeld earned MVP honors at the tournament, and both Gilleland and Lutz were again named to the All-Tournament Team.
- Gilleland leads the offense with 159 kills and posted a career-high 27 kills against Siena. She was also recognized as Belmont's September Student-Athlete of the Month.
- Lutz anchors the defense with 205 digs, while setting duties are split between Jordan Czajkowski (269 assists) and Alivia Keegan (222 assists).
- From the service line, the Bruins have totaled 111 aces compared to opponents' 55, led by Gilleland with 24.
- As a team, Belmont is hitting .268 while holding opponents to a .182 average.
- The Bruins are led by first-year head coach Fritz Rosenberg and are competing in their fourth season in the Missouri Valley Conference after finishing 11-19 overall and 6-12 in league play last year.
About The Aces
- Evansville enters the weekend 4–10 overall and 0–2 in MVC play with losses to Bradley and Southern Illinois.
- Junior libero Ainoah Cruz was named MVC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 8.
- She leads the team with 289 digs, averaging 4.90 per set.
- Freshman outside hitter Hinsley Everett leads the attack with 146 kills, averaging 2.56 per set.
- The Aces are led by head coach Zach Weinberg in his first fall season.
- Evansville finished 6–24 overall and 5–8 in MVC play in 2024.

- Southern Illinois enters the weekend 8–7 overall and 2–0 in MVC play with wins over Murray State and Evansville.
- Senior outside hitter Annabelle Sullish leads the team with 153 kills.
