Belmont Volleyball Sweeps Evansville at Home

Bruins dominate in straight sets to move to 14–6 overall, 5–4 in MVC play

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University volleyball team (14–6, 5–4) turned in a dominant performance Friday night inside the Curb Event Center, sweeping Evansville 3–0 behind a balanced attack, strong serving, and steady defense.

The Bruins set the tone early, opening the match with a big solo block from Bella Mathis and maintaining control throughout the first frame. Behind kills from Brooke Gilleland, Brenna Kauffeld, Emily Warmenhoven, and Erin McMullen, plus key blocks from Mathis and Kauffeld, Belmont cruised to a 25–16 win.

Belmont carried its momentum into the second set, jumping out to a 6–2 lead and continuing to dominate on both sides of the ball. The Bruins' consistency in serve receive, defense, and attack helped build a 17–5 advantage, forcing an Evansville timeout. Belmont remained in rhythm to take the set 25–12.

The Aces came out more competitive in the third, but the Bruins quickly regained control behind a serving run from Connie Kofoed. Belmont closed out the match strong, securing another 25–12 win to complete the sweep.
