Bruins head to Murray State and Host UNI for last week of conference play

Belmont Volleyball faces Racers on the road Thursday before hosting Panthers at the Curb Event Center

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont University volleyball team (16–9, 7–7 MVC) hits the road for its final away match of the regular season, traveling to Murray, Kentucky, to face Murray State on Thursday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. inside Racer Arena.Ā 

The Bruins will then return home to host UNI on Saturday, Nov. 15, at 5 p.m. inside the Curb Event Center for their final Missouri Valley Conference matchup and Senior Night, honoring seniors Lilly Lutz, Brooke Gilleland, and student-coach Mary Smith.Ā

  • Belmont enters the weekend 16–9 overall and 7–7 in Missouri Valley Conference play.Ā Ā 
  • The Bruins have earned league victories over Murray State, Evansville, Southern Illinois, Indiana State, Valparaiso, and Southern Illinois, while continuing to build momentum in the back half of conference action.Ā Ā 
  • Brooke Gilleland leads the offense with 318 kills, including a career-high 27 against Siena, and was recognized as TSWA Volleyball Player of the Week (Nov.11).Ā 
  • Lilly Lutz anchors the defense with 400 digs, highlighted by a career-best 34 against Valparaiso.Ā Ā 
  • Freshman Jordan CzajkowskiĀ leads the Bruins with 552 assists and was recently named MVC Freshman of the Week (Nov. 10).Ā Ā 
  • At the net, freshman Erin McMullen leads the team with 66 blocks, followed by Bella Mathis with 55.Ā Ā 
  • In Belmont's win over Murray State, Lutz recorded her 1,000th career dig, while Gilleland reached 1,000 career kills.Ā Ā 
  • Gilleland was named Invitational MVP at the Belmont Invitational, with Lutz and Emily Warmenhoven earning All-Tournament Team honors.Ā Ā Ā 
  • Brenna Kauffeld claimed MVP honors at the Clocktower Invitational, joined again by Gilleland and Lutz on the All-Tournament Team.Ā Ā 
  • From the service line, Belmont has totaled 188 aces compared to opponents' 122, led by Gilleland with 46.Ā Ā 
  • As a team, the Bruins are hitting .258 while holding opponents to a .206 average.Ā Ā 
  • Belmont is led by first-year head coach Fritz Rosenberg and is competing in its fourth season in the Missouri Valley Conference after finishing 11–19 overall and 6–12 in league play last year.

  • Senior outside hitter Ella Vogel leads the Racers with 299 kills.Ā
