Jessica Woody announced Friday the signing of Charlotte Bynum to a national letter of intent to join the Bruin program.

Bynum, a 16-year-old from Murfreesboro , Tenn., will bring spirit and energy to the sideline. She was honored at a signing ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the Crockett Center for Athletic Excellence.

"Charlotte is a wonderful addition to our cheer program," Woody said. "She has immediately made connections with our team members, and she is taking Belmont Cheerleading to another level."

Bynum comes to Belmont in partnership with Team IMPACT, which matches children facing serious illness and disability with college sports teams, creating a long-term, life-changing experience for everyone involved.

Bynum, who was diagnosed with Schizencephaly, Cerebral Palsy (CP), Epilepsy, and Global Developmental Delays, loves being with people, listening to music, going to plays, hiking, and swimming and attending Belmont Basketball games.

Several Belmont teams, including men's basketball, men's tennis, men's soccer, baseball and track & field, have partnered with Team IMPACT.

Bynum shares this commitment to Belmont with her parents, Alison and Brad, and sister Norah.
