NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University baseball (0-6) squared off against Kentucky (3-1) in game two of their weekend series Saturday afternoon at E.S. Rose Park. The Wildcats jumped out to an early lead and put together big at-bats as they rode the coattails from starting pitcher Ben Cleaver. Kentucky defeated Belmont 12-0 in seven innings.

Scoring Action
- Kentucky scored the first run of the game on a ground ball from Tyler Bell in the second inning.
- The Wildcats hung a three spot on the scoreboard in the third inning. Luke Lawrence hit a sacrifice fly, Patrick Herrera hit an RBI single and Tyler Bell had an RBI base knock. The Wildcats led 4-0 after the top of the second.
- Devin Burkes hit a solo home run in the fourth inning.
- Bell hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning.
- Carson Hansen hit a pinch-hit grand slam in the seventh inning.
Bruin Bullets
- Pete Daniel and Landon Godsey singled.
- Starting pitcher Joe Ruzicka threw five innings, allowed five runs and struck out three Wildcats. Ruzicka suffered his first loss of the season.
- Trey Maeker tossed two scoreless innings in relief.
- Zach Hernandez retired three straight batters in the seventh inning including a strikeout. Â
