NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Behind inspired defensive play, strong rebounding and an impressive third quarter, the Belmont University women's basketball team capped its home slate of 2024-25 with a convincing, 67-61 victory over Missouri Valley Conference leader Missouri State late Saturday afternoon inside the Curb Event Center. The Bruins (18-11, 13-5 MVC), who moved within a game of first place in the MVC race with the win, outscored the Lady Bears (22-7, 14-4 MVC) 22-7 in the third quarter and led by as much as 18 in the fourth quarter.

Sophomore guard

Â
After Missouri State got within five, Harrison started a 10-1 Belmont run to end the quarter. In fact, the Bruins' 45-40 lead with four minutes left in the third would be as close as the Lady Bears would get for the remainder of the contest.
