NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Belmont women's tennis team picked up their third straight win as they defeated Valparaiso 5-2 in a Missouri Valley Conference match held Saturday at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex on the Belmont campus.
The Bruins took the early 1-0 lead as they captured two of the three doubles matches. After winning at three by default and then losing at number one, the duo of seniors

Anastasiya Zholdakova won at number two over Lacey Tanner and Lillian Kelly 6-3.
Then in singles, the Bruins posted wins in four of the six matches to clinch the 5-2 victory over the Beacons.Â
After
Sarah McElrath won by default at number six, junior
Libbie Hamilton earned the next win as she won at number four over Lacey Tanner in straight sets: 6-0, 6-1.Â
Then at two, senior
Viktoria Kliimand gave BU a 4-0 lead as she beat Jolene Fernandes 6-2, 6-2.Â
After losing at number one, sophomore
Hana Sokolovic clinched the match win as she defeated Brynn Steven 6-3, 6-2.Â
The women's tennis team (4-11, 3-0) is back on the courts on Sunday morning for their home finale and Senior Day as they host UIC at 10:00am at the Beaman Family Tennis Complex on the Belmont campus.
