Zane Brown pitching kept the Trojans' offense relatively quiet. The game was called in the seventh inning due to forecasted thunderstorms. Belmont improved to 11-19 with a 7-3 victory.
Scoring Action
- Belmont scored five runs with two outs in the first inning. After Charlie Davis doubled and was thrown out at second, Gardner Lawrence reignited the offense with a double down the left-field line. Godsey singled to put runs on the corners. Kaden Galason dropped a bunt single to third base and scored Lawrence. Jake Maddox followed with a three-run home run to left field. The freshman's first collegiate home run gave Belmont a 5-0 lead.
- Trevecca scored a pair of runs on a single to third base coupled with a throwing error. Te Trojans cut into Belmont's lead and trailed, 5-2.
- Godsey led off the third inning for Belmont with a solo home run to left-center field. Galson singled two batters later and stole second. Maddox drove in Galason – his fourth RBI of the game – on a single to shallow left field. Belmont led 7-3 after three innings.
- The Trojans added a run on a solo home run from Cade Moore in the fifth inning.
- Belmont won the game 7-3 to improve to 11-19 on the season.
Bruin Bullets
- Five Bruins had two-hit games: Charlie Davis, Landon Godsey, Gardner Lawrence, Kaden Galason and Jake Maddox.
- Maddox hit his first collegiate home run in the first inning. He finished the game with a career-high four RBIs.
- Davis stole two bases.
- Lake Morris tossed a career-high four innings and made his first collegiate start. He allowed two runs – one earned – on four hits. Morris tied his career high with three strikeouts.
- Zane Brown picked up his first win as a Bruins. He struck out two batters in 2.1 innings and allowed one home run.
