NORMAL, Ill. – No. 7 Bradley (16-25) and No. 6 Belmont (25-32) faced off in a single-elimination game of the 2025 MVC Baseball Championship Wednesday morning. The morning forecast consisted of overcast skies and a constant drizzle, making for difficult playing conditions at Duffy Bass Field.
Landon Godsey and
Mike Sprockett demolished Bradley's pitching and combined for seven RBIs.
Andrew Perry tossed a three-inning save with three strikeouts and helped the Bruins defeat Bradley, 11-7.

Scoring Action
- Bradley took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Bobby Atkinson hit an RBI triple down the right-field line.
- Belmont responded with two runs in their first trip to the plate. Landon Godsey hit an RBI double to center field. Blake Barton brought home a run on an RBI single to left field.
- The Brave went up 4-2 in the second inning on a pair of RBI base hits.
- Godsey brought the Bruins back within one in the third inning on an RBI triple to center field. Michael Lareau's foul out to left field was deep enough to score Godsey from third base. Jake Maddox hit an RBI single to left-center field to give Belmont a 5-4 lead.
- Godsey hit a two-run home run in the fourth inning. Belmont's lead grew, 7-4.
- Mike Sporckett hit a solo home run in the fifth inning. The Bruins extended their lead to 8-4 after the fifth inning.
- Bradley scored three runs in the sixth inning on a pair of home runs. The Braves cut Belmont's lead to 8-7.
- The Bruins scored a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth. Sprockett hit a fly ball to right field that was dropped, which scored Lareau. Maddox brought home another run on a ground ball to the right side. Belmont led 10-7 after the sixth inning.
- Sprockett gave Belmont an insurance run in the eighth inning with an RBI double. Belmont went on to win 11-7 and advance to the double-elimination bracket.
Bruin Bullets
- Landon Godsey had a career-high four hits. He hit two doubles, a triple, and a two-run home run. Godsey finished the day with four RBIs.
- Mike Sprockett went 3-for-4 with a double, home run and three RBIs.
- Blake Barton had three hits with two runs scored.
- Charlie Davis recorded his team-high 25th multi-hit game. He also stole his 25th stolen base of the season.
- Blake Barton and Michael Lareau recorded an RBI.
- Andrew Perry earned his first career save, behind three scoreless innings out of the bullpen. Perry struck out three batters and allowed no hits.
