NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Former Belmont University men's basketball standoutÂ
Jonathan Pierre has agreed to terms on an Exhibit 10 contract with the Washington Wizards, he told belmontbruins.com Friday evening.

The 6-9 forward will represent Washington in NBA 2K26 Summer League in Las Vegas July 10-20.

Pierre distinguished himself in the NBA pre-draft process, working out for 11 NBA teams and taking part in the 2025 NBA G League Elite Camp in Chicago.

He also performed well amongst the nation's top college basketball players at the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational – which also launched the professional careers of Belmont NBA Champion Ian Clark and four-time all-conference post player Nick Muszynski.

The Hallandale, Florida native had 24 double figure scoring games this past season in earning First Team All-MVC honors.

Pierre averaged 13.8 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 3.5 assists per game. He had a career-high 28 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists at Richmond and scored the game-winning conventional 3-point play at Bradley. The versatile playmaker also made 73 3-point field goals.

Aside from NBA Champion Ian Clark who played six seasons in the association, Belmont also has NBA ties through Indiana Pacers guard Ben Sheppard, former first-round draft selection Dylan Windler, leading skills development trainer Drew Hanlen, and front office executive Adam Barnes.

Belmont University men's basketball has been a postseason fixture for the last two decades, including nine berths to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have won 20 conference championships since 2006 - third-most nationally over that span (behind Gonzaga and Kansas). Belmont has won 20 or more games in 15 consecutive seasons (alongside Gonzaga, Kansas, and Oregon) and 19 or more games in 20 consecutive seasons (alongside Gonzaga, Kansas, and San Diego State). Belmont is among select programs with two or more first-round selections in the NBA Draft over the last five years (Ben Sheppard, Dylan Windler). Belmont University men's basketball boasts an NCAA-leading 19 Academic All-America selections since 2001 and is the only NCAA Division I program to make the NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) Honor Roll every year of its existence. Belmont is the only NCAA Division I institution in America whose men's and women's basketball programs have won 20 or more games in 10 consecutive seasons.
