Bruins to Play Ohio State in Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship

NASSAU, Bahamas – For the third consecutive season, the Belmont University women's basketball team will take on nationally-recognized The Ohio State University. After playing a home-and-home with the Buckeyes the last two seasons, the Bruins will face Ohio State in the Goombay Division of the 2025 Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship to begin Thanksgiving Week in the Bahamas.
 
Belmont will tip off against the Buckeyes on Monday, Nov. 24 at 10 a.m. CT/11 a.m. ET in the opening game of the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship.
 
Accompanied by West Virginia and McNeese State in the Goombay Division, the Bruins will take on either the Mountaineers or the Cowgirls on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
 
The two winners of Belmont versus Ohio State and West Virginia versus McNeese State will play each other in the Goombay Division championship game on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 12:30 p.m. CT/1:30 p.m. ET. The Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship Goombay Division consolation game will take place at 10 a.m. CT/11 a.m. ET on Wednesday, Nov. 26.
 
All games of the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship will be held at the Baha Mar Convention, Arts & Entertainment Center in Nassau, Bahamas. The tournament's live streaming partner will be announced at a later date.
 
Alabama, Harvard, Minnesota and the University of South Florida make up the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship's Junkanoo Division.
 
The Bruins led the then 12th-ranked Buckeyes by nine points with 5:21 to go last November in the Curb Event Center before ultimately falling 67-63. The game was tied in the final 20 seconds.
 
Ohio State has been a top-four seed in each of the last three NCAA Tournaments and is only two seasons removed from reaching the Elite Eight. Two of first-year assistant coach Jo Cambridge's younger sisters play for the Buckeyes – sophomore guard Jaloni Cambridge and redshirt junior guard Kennedy Cambridge.
 
Like Ohio State, West Virginia also reached the second round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament as a No. 6 seed. The Mountaineers have made it past the first round of the NCAA Tournament in three of the last five years.
 
The Cowgirls are longtime members of the Southland Conference.
 
Belmont is 0-3 all-time against the Buckeyes and has never played West Virginia or McNeese State.
 
The Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship is only one portion of the Bruins' extremely impressive non-conference schedule, which includes no fewer than six NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago. Of those six, five reached at least the second round of the Big Dance and three made it to the Sweet 16 with Duke continuing on to the Elite Eight.
 
Belmont's non-conference slate includes a trio of December home matchups with NCAA Tournament regulars – Princeton (Dec. 6), Kentucky (Dec. 14) and the Blue Devils (Dec. 20). The Bruins also travel to in-state national perennial power Tennessee on Thursday, Nov. 13.
 
Last year, national champion UConn and NCAA Tournament regional finalist LSU won their respective four-team divisions of the Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship.
 
This November will mark the fourth-straight season Belmont has played in a prestigious MTE (multi-team event) over Thanksgiving week. The Bruins participated in the 2024 Elevance Health Fort Myers Tip-Off in the Sunshine State, the 2023 Ball Dawgs Classic in Las Vegas and the 2022 Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida.
 
Under ninth-year head coach Bart Brooks, Belmont is 25-17 in neutral-site matchups and 5-7 in MTE games.
 
One of only nine programs in the nation to have won 20-plus games for 10 consecutive seasons, the Bruins went 26-13 last season and reached the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) championship game after defeating BIG EAST Conference mainstay Villanova in the semifinals inside historic Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Belmont also reached the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament championship game and defeated NCAA Tournament bubble team James Madison by 45 points (90-45) on the road in the WBIT quarterfinals.
 
Having claimed seven national postseason wins over the last five years, the Bruins have earned a national postseason bid in 12 of the last 13 seasons dating back to 2012-13.
 
Belmont returns eight letter winners for the 2025-26 season while welcoming seven newcomers, including five freshmen and a pair of transfers.

About Baha Mar Hoops
Baha Mar annually plays host to one of the largest regular-season events in the sport of college basketball. Each November around the Thanksgiving holiday, 20 NCAA Division I men's and women's teams visit the stunning resort to compete in various basketball tournaments. In total, 20 games will be played over an 11-day span.
 
Each August, the resort also holds the Baha Mar Hoops Summer League, offering NCAA teams exhibition games against international competition as part of a foreign tour. The resort has welcomed men's basketball teams from Kentucky, Louisville, Penn State, Rhode Island and Xavier for summer exhibition tours in recent years.
