Eoin Dillon was named Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

This marks the second straight weekly award for Dillon, who was honored Jan. 19.

Dillon scored a game-high 16 points on 6-for-8 shooting as Belmont defeated Illinois State, 80-69, Jan. 24.

He made consecutive 3-pointers midway through the second half that increased Belmont's lead from two to eight points.
Â
The 6-9 forward has scored in double figures in five MVC games, including four straight games.
Â
Dillon has delivered a game-tying or go-ahead basket in five of his last eight games.
Â
The Peoria, Illinois native is averaging 6.2 points and 2.3 rebounds per game this season.

Belmont University men's basketball has been a postseason fixture for the last two decades, including nine berths to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have won 20 conference championships since 2006 - third-most nationally over that span (behind Gonzaga and Kansas).
