NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Earning its second-straight 7-0 home sweep, the Belmont University men's tennis team defeated Alabama A&M Saturday evening at the Ensworth Tennis Center in Nashville. The Bruins (2-2) dropped only one set in the lopsided victory as Belmont clinched the doubles point with wins at the top two spots before cruising in singles play.

Will Ecklund were 6-3 winners at No. 2 doubles, while junior
Stefan Vedovelli and senior
Sabi Roi claimed a 6-4 triumph at No. 1 doubles.

At No. 3 doubles, the sophomore duo of
Morgan Woodson and
Esteban Ortiz led the Bulldogs' Tasso Moreira and Eduardo Andreta 5-4 when the doubles point was secured.

Bautista Durrels Rojo conceded only two games in a 6-0, 6-2 win over Alabama A&M's Goran Krivokapic at No. 6 singles. Meanwhile, both Robin and Vedovelli were 6-1, 6-2 victors on courts two and three, respectively.

Austin Yack also wasted very little time in dispatching the Bulldogs' Juwan Bae, 6-0, 6-4, at the fifth singles spot.

At the top of the singles lineup, Roi fought through a 7-5 opening set against Alabama A&M's Arnav Pathange and followed it up with a 6-1 second set.

Woodson prevailed in a third-set super tiebreaker on court four, recovering from a 6-4 opening set loss to the Bulldogs' Andreta with a 6-4 second set win. In the deciding 10-point tiebreak in leu of a full third set, Woodson edged Andreta 10-7.
