Men's Tennis Takes a Singles Point from Louisville on the Road Saturday

Junior Stefan Vedovelli Wins at No. 3 Singles in Third-Set Super Tiebreaker

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Returning to road action Saturday, the Belmont University men's tennis team was handed a 6-1 loss at the University of Louisville. Junior Stefan Vedovelli provided the Bruins (2-3) with their lone point in the match with a win at No. 3 singles, but Belmont was unable to secure a set anywhere else in the lineup at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Cardinals (9-3) claimed the doubles point in convincing fashion with triumphs at the No. 1 and No. 3 spots.

Sophomore Charlie Robin and graduate Will Ecklund's No. 2 doubles match went unfinished with the tandem trailing 4-3.

Taking on Louisville's Andre' Steinbach on court three, Vedovelli won the opening set 7-5. However, he dropped the second 6-4 before prevailing 11-9 in the deciding 10-point super tiebreaker in leu of the third set.

Robin took eight games off the Cardinals' Hamza El Amine in a 6-4, 6-4 loss at second singles.

The Bruins won no more than four combined games in any of the other four singles matches.
