NASHVILLE, Tenn. – After an intense competition at Notre Dame's Joe Piane Invitational, the Belmont Men's Cross Country team is set to compete at the Crimson Classic hosted by the University of Alabama on Friday, Oct. 16.
The Bruins head south following an 11th-place finish at Notre Dame, where
Charley Townsend led the team with a sub-24 minute time, followed by
Liam Powers and
Drew Brill.
In Tuscaloosa, they'll again face some of the top teams in the nation, including South Region competitors Auburn, Alabama, Georgia Tech, and Kennesaw State.
The meet will also provide a valuable opportunity for Belmont to gauge its position going into the Missouri Valley Conference Championship on Friday, Oct. 30.

Head Coach
Jeff Langdon plans to use this race as preparation for the upcoming conference championship in Des Moines, Iowa. The team will focus on sustainable pacing and running in packs, strategies that have proven successful in MVC competition.
Â
"It's the last race before conference, so we want to get everybody in the best position and get us ready to do the best we can," says Langdon.
The men's 8K race is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. CST at Harry Pritchett Running Park, followed by the women's 6K at 9:20 a.m.
