Softball Completes Road Series Sweep at Bradley

Bruins Shut Out Braves 4–0, Secure Second MVC Series Sweeps

PEORIA, Ill. – The Belmont University Softball team (21–7, 8–1) closed out its first Missouri Valley Conference road series Saturday, defeating Bradley University 4–0 to complete the series sweep. The Bruins have now secured back-to-back conference sweeps and remain undefeated on the weekend.

VS Bradley – Game 3 (4–0)

Belmont broke through in the third inning when Rylee Spindler reached on an error, allowing Emily Konz to score and give the Bruins a 1–0 lead.

The Bruins added key insurance runs in the sixth. Madison Dolecki delivered a double to right center, driving in Nicole Hughes and Spindler to extend the advantage to 3–0. Maddy Balsiger followed with an RBI groundout to bring home Daria Haynie and push the lead to 4–0.

Belmont stayed aggressive on the bases as Konz and Hughes each recorded two stolen bases.

In the circle, Maya Johnson was dominant once again. Johnson tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just two hits while striking out 13 to improve to 14–1 on the season.
