NASHVILLE, Tenn. - -Â Belmont University men's basketball head coach
Evan Bradds announced Friday the signing of
Eli Brown to play basketball for the Bruins, starting with summer 2026 enrollment.

"Eli is a talented, tough-minded guard who will compete for backcourt minutes," Bradds said. "He has played an integral role on winning programs and received outstanding coaching throughout his high school career. Eli has deep shooting range and has always played with a high assist-to-turnover ratio. We are excited to welcome him to Belmont."

Brown was a team leader this past season at Brentwood Academy (Tenn.) for head coach Andy Blackston – who coached Belmont hall of famer Kerron Johnson and Tyler Tanner.

Among his senior season honors, Brown was named a 2026 Division II-AA Tennessee Mr. Basketball Nominee, 2026 BCAT All-Star, and 2026 Prep Hoops All-Star.

The 6-2 guard began his career at The Webb School in Bell Buckle, Tennessee, where he eclipsed 1,000 career points before the end of his junior season.

Brown is a Tennessee All-Region and Tennessee All-District selection, was a five-time state tournament participant, and was a three-time team captain in high school.

The Murfreesboro, Tennessee native had 1,461 points and 302 3-point field goals in his high school career, on 40 percent 3-point shooting and 80 percent free throw percentage.

Brown played club basketball for Pro One UAA and Hoop City Basketball Club.

Belmont University men's basketball has been a postseason fixture for the last two decades, including nine berths to the NCAA Tournament. The Bruins have won 21 conference championships since 2006 - third-most nationally over that span (behind Gonzaga and Kansas). Belmont has won 20 or more games in 16 consecutive seasons (alongside Gonzaga and Kansas) and 19 or more games in 21 consecutive seasons (alongside Gonzaga, Kansas, and San Diego State). Belmont is among select programs with two or more first-round selections in the NBA Draft over the last six years (Ben Sheppard, Dylan Windler). Belmont University men's basketball boasts an NCAA-leading 20 Academic All-America selections since 2001 and is the only NCAA Division I program to make the NCAA Academic Progress Rate (APR) Honor Roll every year of its existence. Belmont is the only NCAA Division I institution in America whose men's and women's basketball programs have won 20 or more games in 11 consecutive seasons.
