NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University women's golf head coach
Olivia Jordan announced on Monday that she is stepping down after six seasons leading the program to take a position outside of collegiate athletics.
"As I step away from my role as Head Women's Golf Coach at Belmont University, I do so with a lot of mixed emotions," said Jordan. "This program, this team, and this university have meant so much to me. I'm incredibly grateful for the relationships built, the memories created, and the opportunity to coach and grow alongside such amazing student-athletes and colleagues. I'm especially proud of what we accomplished together from breaking records, raising the standard of the program, and creating moments that will always be part of Belmont Women's Golf history. While it's never easy to leave something that has been such a meaningful part of your life, I'll always be thankful for this chapter and the people who made it so special."
"I want to personally thank Olivia for her contributions to Belmont University and our athletic program over the past six years," said
Scott Corley, Belmont Vice President/Director of Athletics. "During her tenure here, she has elevated our women's golf program both on the course and in the classroom and served as a great role model for her players. Olivia was a wonderful representative of our University and our athletic program. We will miss her presence in our department."
Jordan took over as the program's third head coach in the summer of 2020. Under her leadership, the Bruins won five team championships, finished in the top-three at conference championship four times, including two runner-up finishes, and had five golfers win a total of 12 individual titles.
The program under her tenure also produced one NCAA qualifier, one conference player of the year, one conference individual champion, 10 All-Conference selections, and numerous golfer of the week awards.
Olivia also embraced Belmont's ideal of crafting true student-athletes as her program won numerous academic honors. During her six seasons, the team earned two Scholar-Athletes of the Year, six MVC Scholar-Athlete Team selections, seven Academic All-District honorees, and nine WGCA All-American Scholars. In addition, the program was named finished in the top-25 of the WGCA Team GPA Rankings twice.
A national search to find Jordan's replacement will begin immediately.
