Belmont Student-Athletes Rank Among National Leaders in Community Service

Numerous Bruin Teams Lead Helper Helper National Rankings

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University Athletics has been named 2025-26 Community Service Bronze Medalist, Helper Helper announced following the spring semester.

Helper Helper provides software and technology service solutions for colleges, universities, non-profits, and businesses to track community service hours across an organization.

Belmont University Athletics ranked third nationally with 6,777 community service hours during the 2025-26 academic year.

For perspective, that total was over 1,500 more community service hours than the average school ranked in the Top 10 nationally – and Belmont is comprised of roughly half the number of student-athletes of comparable schools in the Helper Helper national rankings.

"Congratulations to our Belmont student-athletes – as well as Director of Student-Athlete Formation Dr. Ryan Neises and his staff – on this remarkable accomplishment," said Belmont Vice President/Director of Athletics Scott Corley. "To once again rank among national leaders in community service hours, while also achieving national prominence on the field of play and in the classroom embodies our university SOUL framework to foster whole-person growth and development."

Belmont had seven teams rank within the Top 10 nationally of their respective sports:
  • Belmont Women's Soccer ranked No. 1 among all college women's soccer programs and No. 1 among all women's teams across all sports
  • Belmont Volleyball ranked No. 1 among all college volleyball programs
  • Belmont Women's Cross Country and Track & Field ranked No. 3 among all college cross country and track & field programs
  • Belmont Softball ranked No. 4 among all college softball programs and No. 10 among all women's teams across all sports
  • Belmont Men's Soccer ranked No. 2 among all college men's soccer programs and No. 8 among all men's teams across all sports
  • Belmont Men's Tennis ranked No. 8 among all college men's tennis programs
  • Belmont Cheer ranked No. 9 among all college cheer & dance programs
This marks the third year in a row Belmont Athletics has ranked Top 4 nationally in community service hours.

Belmont women's soccer, volleyball, cross country & track & field, and softball have been multiple winners in recent years of the Helper Helper program.

Belmont Softball won the 2025 Helper Helper National Team Service Challenge which ranked the top 64 teams across all divisions and sports, placing them into a bracket where teams compete.  The winner of each matchup was determined by the service done by those teams throughout the academic year, with an emphasis on service completed during the months of March and April.

Softball also won conference championships on the field of play and competed in back-to-back NCAA Championships.

Additionally, Belmont Athletics was recipient of the 2025 National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Fiesta Bowl Community Service Award – recognizing institutions making the greatest community impact during the academic year.
