NASHVILLE, Tenn. - - Belmont University Vice President/Director of Athletics
Scott Corley announced Monday the hire of Cameron Ringstead to the position of director of sports performance.

Ringstead spent the past eight years at Elon, working his way up to director of sports performance of the Phoenix program.

"Cameron brings a wealth of experience in the sports performance field and will be instrumental in developing our student-athletes to maximize their athletic potential. Cameron is widely-respected in our industry and his professionalism came through during the interview process."
Among notable career accomplishments, Ringstead played an integral role in Elon's recent run of success in the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA), earning a league-best number of conference championships in women's cross country, women's track and field, men's tennis, women's tennis, softball, men's soccer, women's soccer, and men's golf. Elon sent a program-record six women's track athletes to the 2026 NCAA east regional in Lexington, Kentucky.
Ringstead also directed training of Elon pitcher George Kirby, who was selected No. 20 overall in the 2019 Major League Baseball Entry Draft.

He also led the Elon nutrition program and the football training program for Elon during the 2018 season, which saw the Phoenix ranked as high as No. 5 in the national FCS Top 25 poll.

Ringstead has significant professional development experience, including Oregon State football, Richmond men's basketball, and Olympic sports at Holy Cross.

Ringstead earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science from the University of Chester (England) in 2016, his master's degree in strength and conditioning from Springfield College in 2018, and doctorate of philosophy and sport leadership from Concordia University Chicago in 2025.
He holds multiple certifications, including NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa-SCCC, Titleist Performance Institute Certified – Power Level 3, FMS L1, Precision Nutrition L1, and Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED.
