Belmont is Back on the Road on Sunday Against Louisville

Louisville, Ky. - - Belmont University women's soccer heads to Kentucky this weekend as they match up against Louisville on Sunday.
 
Kickoff is set for 6:00 p.m. CT from Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Live stats will be provided and the game will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.

WHAT'S BRUIN

• Belmont finished the 2025 season with a 4-6-7 overall record and 2-4-3 in league play.
• The Bruins narrowly missed out on a spot in the conference tournament last season, finishing just one point outside of the playoff picture.
• Greta Genie was named MVC goalkeeper of the week on Tuesday after setting a career high 10 saves against Samford last Sunday.
• Belmont starts the season off 1-1-1 coming off a strong win against Chattanooga on Thursday.
• The Bruins offense looked phenomenal on Thursday, out shooting the Mocs 13-6 with both Kate Virtel and Reagan Ross both finding the back of the net for Belmont.

About the Cardinals

• Louisville finished the season 10-5-4 and 4-2-3 in conference play. 
• The Cardinals qualified for the NCAA Championship where they knocked out Kentucky in PKs before being eliminated by Kansas in the second round.
• Louisville opened their season 1-1-0 after losing to Nebraska 3-1 before defeating IU Indiana 5-1 both at home.

Series History

• This is just the second time in program history the Bruins have taken on the Cardinals. Their only other match up came in 2016 where Belmont took an early lead off the foot of Meg Howard, however, Brooklynn Rivers would tie the match for Louisville late into the second half. The match would stay tied through the end of regulation but the match took place before the NCAA removed overtime in the regular season and Rivers would go on to score again in the 98th minute to win it for the Cardinals 2-1.
