NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Belmont University volleyball's Brenna Kauffeld and Mya Bolton were recognized with Missouri Valley Conference weekly honors, the league office announced Monday afternoon. Kauffeld was named MVC Player of the Week, while Bolton earned MVC Libero of the Week honors.Â
The honors come after Belmont opened MVC play with a pair of road victories, defeating Valparaiso in four sets on Friday before sweeping UIC on Saturday. The Bruins improved to 5-8 overall and 2-0 in MVC play.Â
Player of the Week – Brenna KauffeldÂ
Kauffeld turned in a standout weekend at right side, playing all six rotations to help lead Belmont to two road wins. The senior from Ashville, Ohio, totaled 26 kills, three aces, five blocks and 10 digs while hitting .365 across the two matches.Â
Kauffeld opened the weekend with a team-best 15 kills against Valparaiso, adding an ace and hitting .302 in Belmont's four-set victory. She followed with another match-leading performance against UIC, recording 11 kills, three blocks and a .455 hitting percentage in the Bruins' three-set victory. The win marked Belmont's first program victory over UIC.Â
The MVC Player of the Week honor adds to Kauffeld's strong start to the 2026 season. She was named Belmont's September Student-Athlete of the Month and earned Weber State Invitational All-Tournament Team honors earlier this season.Â
Kauffeld leads Belmont with 155 kills this season while ranking third on the team in aces (eight) and blocks (27) and tied for fifth in digs (59).Â
Libero of the Week – Mya BoltonÂ
Bolton anchored the Bruins defensively throughout the opening MVC weekend, recording a team-high 46 digs while adding two aces and 10 assists across the two victories.Â
The sophomore transfer from Michigan State, a native of Shawnee, Kansas, posted a match-high 29 digs against Valparaiso and added nine assists. Against UIC, Bolton again led all players with 17 digs, while contributing two aces and an assist to Belmont's first-ever win over the Flames.Â
Bolton currently leads the Bruins with 214 digs and ranks second with 10 aces and third with 46 assists. She enters the week ranked fifth in the Missouri Valley Conference in digs.Â
