Corvin Scott

Corvin Scott enters his second season as the volunteer assistant coach on the Bruin staff in 2022-2023 after being introduced on Jan. 25, 2022. Scott primarily works with the outfielders and is also the first base coach, additionally helping spearhead the Belmont Baseball Camps.

In 2022, Scott helped develop the talents of center fielder Guy Lipscomb, who finished 9th in the country in batting average (.406) and 4th in stolen bases (42) on the way to Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year honors, an All-Region selection, and Third-Team All-American honors before being drafted in the fifth round in the 2022 MLB First-Year Player Draft by the Cleveland Guardians, becoming the highest draft pick in program history.

A graduate of Middle Tennessee State, Scott comes to Belmont from King University, where he served as an assistant coach for the 2021 season. During his time in Bristol, Tenn., Scott was the first base coach and primarily worked with outfielders, hitters, and base running.

Prior to his stint at King, Scott worked as a graduate assistant at Campbellsville University for two seasons, assisting with the Tigers' outfielders and hitters and helping with base running. Before the 2020 season was canceled, the Tigers were 13-8 and were ranked in the NAIA preseason top-25.

Before arriving at Campbellsville, Scott was an assistant at Volunteer State Community College where he coached first base and worked closely with outfielders and catchers, in addition to assisting with base running.

A Nashville native who played at East Nashville High School (2011-14), Scott graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Leisure, Sport and Tourism Studies from Middle Tennessee State in 2018 and went on to earn a Master of Arts in Sports Management and Administration from Campbellsville in the fall of 2021.
