Matt Thomas enters his fourth season with the Bruins as a volunteer assistant coach. His duties will include coaching the outfielders, first base, and assisting with the hitters.

Matt comes to Belmont after serving three years as an assistant coach at Trevecca Nazarene University. There he coached the hitters and infielders. He also coached third base and developed the teams strength and conditioning program.

Before Trevecca, Matt coached at his alma mater Lipscomb University for three years after finishing his playing career for the Bisons. He helped the Bisons reach their first Atlantic Sun Conference tournament as well as the teams first conference tournament championship and regional appearance.

Matt reached Lipscomb as a player after playing at St. Catherine Community College where he was the team captain and shortstop.

Matt resides in Nashville, Tenn.
