Nick Bredeson

Belmont Baseball head coach Dave Jarvis announced Tuesday, June 15 the hire of Nick Bredeson as a volunteer assistant coach on the Bruin staff.

Bredeson comes to Nashville after spending the past eight years at Ohio University, both as an assistant coach and student-athlete.

"We are extremely excited to have Nick as a part of our coaching staff," Jarvis said. "We feel he brings a great level of experiences and enthusiasm, having worked under both Rob Smith and Craig Moore at Ohio. His understanding of the game and perspective as a player and coach will benefit our players."

A starting catcher and letterwinner for the Bobcats from 2013-17, Bredeson was a member of Ohio's 2015 Mid-American Conference tournament championship team and 2015 NCAA Tournament team which played in the regionals at the University of Illinois.

Bredeson hit .312 as a senior.

A native of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Bredeson earned his undergraduate degree in sport management from Ohio and completed his graduate degree in coaching education.
