David Lopez-Cepero joins the Belmont University men's soccer coaching staff in 2015 as a volunteer assistant.
Lopez-Cepero brings a wealth of collegiate and professional experience to the Bruin program.
Most recently, he served as a women's soccer assistant coach at Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, N.Y. Lopez-Cepero helped the Tigers to a 23-10-7 record during his time, including consecutive NCAA Tournament berths in 2012 and 2013. Aside from its first-ever national tournament appearance, RIT also registered its first national Top 25 ranking in program history.
Lopez-Cepero also served in a coaching capacity for the Empire Revolution club team while in upstate New York.
Prior, he served as head coach of the Ohio State Women's Soccer Club from 2010-12 and Classic Eagles FC from 2009-12.
Lopez-Cepero played for the Cincinnati Kings of the Professional Development League (PDL) in 2008.
A 2007 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, Lopez-Cepero earned NAIA All-America Honorable Mention and NAIA Region VIII First Team honors. He tallied 26 goals and 16 assists in his college career.
He holds a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) B License.
A native of Chattanooga, Tennessee, Lopez-Cepero currently resides in Franklin with his wife, Molly, and son, Liam.
