Jordan Grant

Jordan Grant is entering his second season as assistant coach at Belmont, as head coach David Costa announced the addition of Grant to the Bruin staff on July 19, 2019.

Last season, Grant helped lead Belmont to one of its most successful years in program history with a 7-3-2 record in the spring 2021 season. The Bruins set or matched program records in winning percentage (.667), fewest goals allowed (10), shutouts (6), consecutive matches without a loss (7) and consecutive wins (4). 

Belmont capped off its impressive spring campaign with the program’s first ever appearance in the SoCon Tournament title match. It knocked off top-seeded and No. 25 ranked Furman in the conference tournament semifinals to advance to the championship match, where they fell by a narrow 1-0 margin to UNC Greensboro.

Grant, a decorated collegiate player and well-respected in the college and club atmospheres, came to Belmont after spending the previous two-plus seasons as director of operations at the University of Cincinnati.

Previously, he coached three seasons as an assistant with the Mount Vernon Nazarene (OH) University men's soccer program. Grant arrived at MVNU after spending 2013 as an assistant coach at Taylor University (IN). 
 
Grant had a distinguished collegiate playing career at Taylor from 2011-12 and played at then-NCAA Division II Northern Kentucky University from 2009-11.
 
At Taylor, Grant was a starting winger, a second team all-conference selection, and helped his team to an appearance in the NAIA national tournament and a Crossroads Conference championship. In addition, Grant was part of the 2010 national championship team at NKU, scoring a goal in the national title game. Additional playing experience included stints with the PDL's Cincinnati Dutch Lions, Bridges FC, and Cincinnati United Premier Super 20's.

In regards to club soccer, Grant coaches several club teams locally in Nashville, Tenn. Prior to his move to Belmont, he served as head coach of Cincinnati United Premier. He also led the Northern Kentucky Soccer Academy Pro 03 and 01 boys teams and the U17 boys Classics Eagles out of Columbus, Ohio. Grant also has experience working in the Olympic Development Program.
 
Grant earned a bachelor of arts degree in history from Taylor University in 2013 and has completed a masters of science in management from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in 2017.
 
He holds his United States Soccer Federation 'C' License from the United States Soccer Federation and his NSCAA GK 1 certificate from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.
 
Grant is married to his wife Stephanie and they have a son, Jayden.
