Head coach Bart Brooks announced Virginia Stuart as the Belmont University women’s basketball program’s director of operations on Monday, June 1, 2026. Stuart, who handled the Bruins’ travel among many other responsibilities the previous two seasons, served in a similar role as a graduate assistant for Belmont.

Stuart arrived in the Music City in the summer of 2024 and has played a key role in the Bruins’ success over the last two seasons. As a graduate assistant, Stuart oversaw all aspects of Belmont’s travel and meal planning. She also aided in game and practice setup and helped direct the Bruins’ student managers. As Belmont’s full-time director of basketball operations, Stuart has expanded her administrative duties while continuing to lead the program’s travel, meal planning and day-to-day logistics.

Ensuring both student-athletes and staff are organized and taken care of every step of the way, Stuart has allowed the Bruins to focus on competing at the highest level. With Stuart assisting in various ways, Belmont has won 46 games and made a historic national postseason run by reaching the 2025 Women’s Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT) championship game.

In May of 2026, Stuart completed her Master of Sport Administration degree at Belmont.

A Memphis native, Stuart graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2024 with her Bachelor of Science degree in sport management. For two seasons, Stuart worked under then Lady Volunteers head coach Kellie Harper as a team manager. She helped facilitate Tennessee’s day-to-day activities, handled administrative tasks, and provided essential support to both the student-athletes and coaching staff. Stuart also oversaw the communication logistics between the team managers.
