Sam Mahtani begins his first season as an Assistant Coach with the women's soccer program.
"I'm excited to welcome Sam Mahtani to our coaching staff," said Henson. "Sam embodies what is important to our program at Belmont; he is a very smart and talented person with the heart of a servant leader. He fits perfectly with our Be Belmont core values of Integrity, Commitment, Family, Battle and Heart. Our student-athletes will benefit greatly from Sam's guidance in in and off the field.
Mahtani comes to Belmont after spending the last six seasons as Head Coach at Providence Christian College in California. During his time there, he started and developed the men's and women's programs and built a culture of excellence among both teams.
Prior to his tenure at Providence Christian, Sam coached at Tennessee Temple University as well as serving on the coaching staff with the Tennessee ODP program.
He also spent time coaching at his alma mater, Trinity Christian College in Illinois, where he helped the women's soccer program earn berth in the NAIA Championship in 2011 and the NCCAA Championship in 2012 and 2013.
Mahtani holds a M.A. in Coaching & Athletic Administration from Concordia University in Irvine, California, a B.A. in Business Management from Trinity Christian College, and coaching licenses that include a US Soccer A-Senior license and a NSCAA Goalkeeping license.
