Delaney Gallagher

Delaney Gallagher joins the program after spending the past four seasons as an assistant coach at Buffalo while adding recruiting coordinator to her title for two seasons. 
 
In her final season with UB, the Bulls finished 12-6 in conference play and reached the MAC Tournament Quarterfinals before falling to eventual MAC Champion Western Michigan. The Bulls landed three athletes on All-MAC Teams. Gallagher helped guide middle blocker Abby Leigh to a First Team All-MAC honor after finishing in the top 10 of the conference for hitting percentage (.382), aces per set (.40), blocks per set (1.17), total blocks (76), and points (3.88).
 
In the 2023 season, the Bulls finished 23-9 overall and 13-5 in MAC play. UB won their first MAC East Division title and earned their second postseason appearance in the NIVC. Gallagher helped guide a program record five athletes to earn All-MAC honors while middle blocker Courtney Okwara was second in the nation for hitting percentage with a .446 average.  

In her second season with UB, the team earned their first postseason appearance with a trip to the NIVC Tournament. The Bulls also reached the MAC Tournament Semifinals for the first time in program history. 

In 2021, Gallagher helped the Bulls earn six wins in conference play for her first season. While working with the middle blockers, she helped the team average just under 2.00 blocks per set while guiding Okwara to a team leading .319 hitting percentage and an average of 0.87 blocks per set.
 
Prior to her time at UB, Gallagher served as a graduate assistant for both indoor and beach volleyball at Louisiana Monroe where she was heavily involved in recruiting. 
 
Gallagher also spent time as a graduate assistant at North Park University for both the men's and women's volleyball programs before transferring to Louisiana Monroe.
 
Originally from Nashville, Gallagher played volleyball at Middle Tennessee before continuing her career at Ole Miss. During her time at MTSU, Gallagher led the team in blocks. She wrapped up her career at Ole Miss after playing 19 matches across her junior and senior year. 

Gallagher played at Hume-Fogg High School and was tabbed all-district three straight years. She also played club volleyball at Alliance Volleyball Club.
